Our Client is seeking a Data Scientist to join the economic research group in our core Data Science team. The group focuses on areas like real estate valuation, forecasting, urban and property development, operations, networks, and economic decision-making. As a member of the group you will build models and products that help client's customers make critical decisions about where to live and where to invest.

An analytic mindset. You should be prepared to rigorously think through problems and design solutions, imagine what it would look like if you were wrong, and test competing explanations and alternative solutions even when you- re convinced you- re right. Experience with research in computational social science is a plus.

Experience in designing and implementing experiments (lab and online). A strong plus if you- ve worked with Amazon Mechanical Turk or have managed interesting A/B testing.

Fluency with Python data tools (but we- re open to persuasion that other languages or tools would serve as well). Skills with Pandas and NumPy as well as with Scipy and Scikit-Learn are very desirable.

We don- t expect you to be an expert in databases. We do expect you to be comfortable writing queries with SQL or to be really excited to learn it quickly. We also increasingly rely on non-relational databases (MongoDB, Hadoop), so if you want that data (and you will) you should be prepared to learn how to get it.

Interest and competence in data visualization. Our data and models are only useful when they can be understood and used by company's business users and decision-makers (or our consumers). Data visualization helps us communicate and disseminate our work. Knowledge of visualization tools like Seaborn, Bokeh, or D3.js will be valuable.


Design and implement experiments and analysis that provide insights into the economic decision-making underlying an important segment of the economies of several major emerging and developed economies across Asia.

Apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms on client's unique data to develop innovative products and features that will redefine real-estate on the web.

Design experiments and success metrics to test innovative product ideas using in-person user-testing, crowdsourcing environments like Mechanical Turk, and live experiments (e.g. A/B testing, bandit algorithms) on our platform.

Work with product managers and designers to build amazing consumer facing products that are closely tuned to the needs and challenges of the users and customers we serve.

Communicate clear and actionable research findings to influence company and business strategy.
